I am a licensed clinical psychologist {PSY 23399} with passion and commitment in providing mental health services to youths, adults and families in the SF Bay Area and throughout California. I have many years of extensive training and experience working with diverse children, adolescents, young adults and adults who struggle with emotional, behavioral and interpersonal difficulties including but not limited to anxiety, depression, complex trauma and grief and loss.
I am passionate about helping individuals and families who grapple with the impact of immigration, acculturation, oppression and the tension of navigating between conflicting cultures, values, worlds and systems. I am also particularly interested in helping clients explore their identity formation, sense of belonging, and issues related to transgenerational, familial, and cultural roots of trauma, and growth. I am certified in psychedelic therapy and research with CIIS as part of my on-going endeavor to expand definitions and to apply methods of healing especially to the BIPOC community.
I offer psychedelic therapeutic services such as Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help eligible patients experience more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms. I take on the psychotherapy portion of the experience, while partner medical teams support your medical aspects. This includes determining eligibility, developing a custom treatment plan, prescribing the medicine and monitoring outcomes. Please contact me via the website or call to set up a consultation to determine if this is right for you.
In addition to my psychotherapy services, I provide supervision and consultation to psychology trainees and professionals from different stages of their professional development. In addition, I am a professor of clinical psychology and conduct clinical presentations and trainings for various organizations. Lastly, all my professional endeavors are rooted in highlighting and integrating depth-oriented, relational, and social justice lens.
I graduated from Wellesley College with a double major in Psychology and Asian American Studies and received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. My vigorous clinical training included a predoctoral internship at California Pacific Medical Center, Adult and Child Outpatient clinic and a postdoctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland, Department of Psychiatry.
Being in therapy can be an intimidating undertaking. Therapy is a leap of faith – in the process, in the therapist and in yourself. Therefore, I create a warm and safe environment where we can explore and understand your emotional world. Together we will work towards personal change, healing and fulfillment in your life.
Adults enter therapy with a variety of difficulties and/or with a desire to gain personal insight and awareness. Some of the commonly explored issues include symptoms reduction, various life transitions, and exploration of one’s identity.
I am CPTR certified. I will support your exploration about the possibility of using these medicines. I will prepare you for psychedelic medicine (including ketamine) and/or need to process and integrate more deeply after your psychedelic journey.
I provide services to professionals and students in the mental health field with varying levels of experience and training. We work together in discussing difficult clinical cases and dilemmas or exploring your professional development.
My fee for a psychotherapy hour is comparable to licensed psychologists in the SF Bay Area. Based on your financial needs and our agreement on treatment frequency, I may be able to offer you a lower fee on a sliding scale. We will mutually agree on the fee and payment schedule during our initial consultation.
I accept credit card payments or other peer-to-peer payments (i.e., PayPal, Zelle, Venmo). We will discuss payment options during the initial consultation.
Cancellation of your scheduled appointment must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a full session charge.
As a licensed psychologist, I am also accepted by most PPO insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. Please check with your insurance company to see if you can reimburse services from an out-of-network provider. Also, psychotherapy is typically covered by pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) or Health Spending Accounts (HSAs).
I am currently only seeing clients remotely (via telehealth). To make an appointment or schedule a consultation with me, please call the phone number or fill out the form below to send an email with your information.
